National Bundt Day: Let Them Have Cake!
Tomorrow is National Bundt Day — what a wonderful excuse to eat cake! We’ve recently added several Bundt cake pans from Nordic Ware to our store. If you didn’t already know, Nordic Ware introduced the Bundt pan in the 1950s. That heritage is one of the many reasons we love Nordic Ware products.
In celebration of National Bundt Day, we’re highlighting some of our favorite Bundt cake pans, along with a couple Bundt-related accessories. If you aren’t already a Bundt cake fan, we bet you will be after reading this post!
Get the Best From Your Bundt Cake Pans
Nordic Ware Bundt cake pans are made from aluminum with a nonstick surface. However, Nordic Ware recommends brushing the interior of your pan with vegetable shortening, then dusting with flour. You can also use a nonstick cooking spray with flour, but you should brush it into all the crevices after spraying.
Next, slowly pour batter into the prepared pan. Be sure your batter has filled up all those crevices by tapping the pan gently on the counter. This removes any air bubbles. Finally, let your finished cake cool for no more than 10 minutes before inverting it directly onto a cooling rack.
While we can’t guarantee following these steps will result in a flawless Bundt cake, they’ll definitely help your chances!
Bundt Cake Pans for All Year Long
If you want to make a Bundt cake that looks like it came from one of those popular bakeries, try the Nordic Ware Elegant Party Bundt cake pan (above). It has the perfect shape for piping long, thick strands of buttercream frosting. Or you can drizzle glaze over the top, like in the photo above.
Another Bundt cake pan with fantastic lines for glazing or frosting is the Nordic Ware Bavaria Bundt cake pan (above). Even if you leave it plain, the design is still striking. To make sure each of those pleats comes out looking sharp, follow the pan prep instructions carefully.
We also love the Nordic Ware Anniversary Bundtlette pan (above), which turns out miniature versions of the design created by Nordic Ware in honor of their 65th anniversary. These cakes are more fun than cupcakes, and they’re easier to eat too.
Bundt Cake Pans for the Holidays
Nordic Ware holiday Bundt cake pans could help you change up your holiday desserts (and impress your guests too). The Nordic Ware Star of David Bundt cake pan (above) is ideal for Hanukkah, Bar or Bat Mitzvahs, and other Jewish celebrations. Frost it to highlight the two triangles and the points of the star, or serve it plain.
We’re partial to the Nordic Ware Pine Forest Bundt cake pan (above) because it works for all winter celebrations, especially as you head into the new year. We love Nordic Ware’s idea to sprinkle the finished cake with powdered sugar to resemble snow. Try making a gingerbread cake for the full holiday effect!
Bundt Cake Tools and Accessories
After you’ve gone to the trouble to bake and decorate your perfect Bundt cake, check out the Nordic Ware Deluxe Bundt Cake Keeper (above). Use it to safely transport cakes and keep them covered and fresh on your counter. The clear acrylic cover lets you show off the contents even while they’re inside.
Finally, what kitchen couldn’t use another set of measuring cups? The one you need always seems to be in the dishwasher. We love this set of six Bundt measuring cups (above) not only for their fun Bundt shapes, but for their range of measurements too. In addition to the standards of 1-cup, 1/2-cup, 1/3-cup and 1/4-cup, this set also includes 3/4-cup and 2/3 cup. We know those will come in handy!
